Cricket Lee Hamm

Cricket was a rescue that we got in the winter of 1976. Our Mom brought her home from work. Mom was a bartender at Sunset Tavern at the time and one of the customers said he was going to "dump the dog somewhere" and Mom couldn't stand the thought of that so she said she would take her.

Our vet told us that she was a Black Phantom Poodle. She had beautiful markings.

Cricket loved the girls in the family but was not a fan of our Dad. Dad never paid much attention when Cricket would bark and snap at his heels when he crossed the room.

The only man that Cricket seemed to love was our brother, Steve. It was surprising how quickly she made up with him because he was in the Marines when we got her.

Cricket loved belly rubs, being as close as possible and she would beg by sitting on her hind legs and putting her front paws together.

Whenever the old Cricket Lighter commercials would come on TV Cricket would look at the television and cock her head. We thought it was pretty cute. But she was pretty cute.
