Phillip A. Chambers was son of Thomas Franklin & Margaret (Taylor) Chambers. He moved from Knox, Indiana after 1830 to Clark, Illinois.

Philip married Sarah 'Sally' Denisia Minor in 1829 Knox, Indiana. They were the parents of five sons, William, George W.,Thomas, Robert H., & Francis M. Chambers.

After the death of his parents and wife, Phillip is seen living with his youngest son, FM Chambers and daughter-in-law, Adda Flintham in Compromise, Champaign, Illinois in 1870. He died before 1880 when his son moved to Terre Haute, Indiana.

Phineas "Phillip" Chambers is the same person, however, he is seen in records as Phillip Alexander Chambers for two reasons.

1- The below record shows his middle initial:

2-His sister, Frances 'Fanny' Chambers named her son Phillip Alexander Vaughn. My great grandfather, P.A. Vaughn lived with his Uncle P.A. Chambers (after his mother's death) from 1855-1870.
