ANADARKO Funeral for Lupe A. Gooday Sr., 81, Anadarko, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Little Washita United Methodist Church, Fletcher, with the Rev. Margaret Johnson, the Rev. Bill Foote and Lay Speaker Donald Horse officiating.
Mr. Gooday went to be with the Lord with his family by his side Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in Anadarko.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Little Washita Cemetery, Fletcher, under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Lupe was born May 1, 1933, in Apache to Robert and Mary Wallace Gooday. He was drafted into the Army in 1953 and served five years active duty and continued his military career for an additional 17 years for a total of 22 years of service. He began his civil service career as a conservation technician at Carnegie and later worked as reality specialist at the Anadarko Agency, Bureau of Indian Affairs. He retired with a total of 37 years of federal service.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Wooth Gooday, of the home; children: Charlotte Kay Gooday and Lori Ann Gooday Ware; a sister, Inez Gooday Motah; a brother, Talbert Gooday; grandsons and wives: Wilson Ware Jr. and wife Marie and Ryan Gooday and wife Sheri; two great-granddaughters, Mariah Gooday and Shyan Gooday; a daughter-in-law, Dina Gooday; step-grandchildren: Gary Toyekoyah and Ellen Toyekoyah; and step-great-grandchildren: Matthew James Toyekoyah and Dalen Matthew Tartsah
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Gooday; a son, Lupe A. Gooday Jr.; brothers: Henry Wallace Gooday, Inman Cloyde Gooday, Bob Gooday and Wendell Gooday; and sisters: Flora Mamie Weryackwe, Theodora Gooday and Georgia Ann Gooday
Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
