August Max, a resident of Wilkin county for 61 years, died at his farm home in Meadows township Saturday at the age of 93. Since he suffered a stroke in June 1955, he had been bedridden.
Funeral services were held today at the Immanucl Lutheran church in Meadows with Rev. G. W. Degner officiating.
Mr. Max was born in Germany March 4, 1864. He came to the United States with his mother. two sisters and three brothers in 1880 and they settled in Akron township. As a young man he homesteaded in Meadows township.
He was married to Anna Reher July 22, 1896.
Surviving are his wife and six daughters; Mrs. Austin(Caroline) Ferguson, Mrs. Frank (Emma) Jacobs, Mrs. Walter (Louise) Baker, Mrs. Oscar (Annie) Woods, Mrs. Torben (Alice) Velde, Hannah Max and 17 grandchildren
and 22 great grandchildren.
