He was born June 19, 1924 in Highspire, PA, a son of the late Claude and Esther Chubb.
Don was a U.S. Marine Corps. World War II veteran; a 1950 graduate of Lafayette College where he was a member of the Zeta Psi Fraternity, and an elder of the Tau Chapter.
Don was a retired president of the Safe Harbor Water Power Corp and previously was vice president and general manager of the former Hershey Electric Company. He was a member and Elder of the Derry Presbyterian Church in Hershey where he served on a number of committees. He was also a member of Brownstone Lodge #666 F&AM, the Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple Shrine, and a past Commander of the Hershey American Legion.
Don was also a member and past president of the Hershey Shrine Club, Hershey Rotary Club, and the Central Pennsylvania Lafayette College Alumni Assn.
He was instrumental in the development of the Hershey Kiss street lights. Between 1964-1967 Don oversaw the construction and startup of the Hershey Chocolate Company's factory in Oakdale, California. Throughout Don's career, he received many awards and recognitions from various community and civic organizations. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, Lafayette sports and was an avid golfer and Philadelphia Phillies fan, but his family was always first in his heart.
In addition to his parents and wife Catherine, he was predeceased by sister, Elaine Hammond, brothers, Glen, Harold "Bud", and Richard Chubb, and daughter-in-law, Linda Chubb.
