Miss Leola Faye Elkins, 34, of Dimmitt, an Aspermont native, died at 1:25am Sunday in Stamford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral will be at 4pm Monday in the First Baptist Church in Aspermont.
The Rev. John Street of Dimmitt will officiate assisted by the Rev. Hal Upchurch, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Aspermont Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
She was born January 1, 1938 in Stonewall County, Texas. She was a school teacher in Dimmitt and had taught in Nolan and Guthrie. She was a Hardin-Simmons University graduate as well as North Texas State University. At the time of her death, she was school librarian in Dimmitt.
She is survived by her parents M. C. and Mildred Elkins; one brother Jimmie Fred Elkins of Fort Worth; her paternal grandmother Pearl Elkins of Aspermont and her maternal grandparents Jim and Nannie Bolch of Jayton.
