T Alexander, 62, Dies at Florence
Florence, Sept 16 [1942]--Tilden Alexander, 62, freight yard master for the Atlantic Coast Line railroad, died early Wednesday morning at his residence, 1221 Gregg Avenue. Mr Alexander had been in failing health for the past several months.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 Friday afternoon at the Waters Funeral Home. Dr Walter R Alexader, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Hope cemetery.
Mr Alexander was born July 16, 1880 in Aiken county. For the past 40 years he had made Florence his home where he was admired by many friends. he was a member of the Steel Creek Baptist church near Robbins and a Mason, being a member of Hampton lodge AFM No. 209.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs T Alexander of Florence; one son William L Alexaner of Detroit; one stepdaughter, Mrs Wayne Howle of Florence, and two step-sons, Howard D Long of Sumter nd Clarence E Long of Fayetteville. One sister, Mrs Annie Proctor of California and one brother, Hilton Alexander of Bamberg, also survive.
