Simone Arthaud Allen 1918 ~ 2006
Simone Arthaud Allen, age 88, died peacefully on November 5th, 2006 and returned home to her Heavenly Father. Simone was born October 25, 1918 in Paris, France. Following the end of WWII, Simone converted to the LDS faith and immigrated to the United States to be closer to the church. She married Chester D. Allen and they made a home in the Avenues, where they raised their son *ALLEN JOHN ALLEN. She worked for nearly 40 years at the LDS Hospital, where she made many friends and was much valued. Simone was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. She loved being outside and spent many happy hours tending her garden and feeding the birds and any other creature that wandered into her yard. She loved the Church and was a wonderful example to her family. Simone is survived by her son, Allen; daughter-in-law, Danice; two grandsons, Christopher and Aaron; as well as many more family members in France. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester. Simone's family would like to extend their gratitude to IHC Hospice, Davis and Salt Lake Counties, for their care and compassion, particularly her nurses, Kathy and Rita; social workers, Sheila and Sylvia; and her favorite aide, gentle Laura. Graveside services will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 "N" Street on Wednesday, November 7th, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Her grave site is located in the cemetery just east of the fire station on Eleventh Avenue. Funeral Directors - Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary.
