(CARROLLTON, Ga.) Samuel Dent Nelson, 35, of Carrollton, Ga., died Sunday, July 30, 2000. He was a radio dispatcher for the Bowdon Police Department.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Terry and Brenda Nelson of Graham; his mother and stepfather, Larry and Mary F. Jennings of Carrollton; grandmothers, Roxie Nelson and Ruby R. Jennings of Carrollton and Catherine Gosdin of Bowdon, Ga.; stepbrothers Lee McKenzie of Bowdon, Jeffrey S. Jennings of Carrollton, and Matthew Jennings of Lawrenceville, Ga.; sisters, Elesa Varnadore of Baxley, Ga., and Terri Stubbs of Carrollton, Ga.; and a stepsister, Dedra Cenciarelli of Suwanee, Ga.

Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert Hendon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe Parker, Jeff Crews, David Phillips, Jimmy Robinson, Jerry Lee, Kent Wilson, Tommy Page, Terrell Denney, Chris Roberts and Travis Lumpkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Bowdon Police Department, Carroll County Fire and Rescue, and Carroll County Sheriff's Department.

Arrangements are by Garner Funeral Home, Carollton.
