Raymond Ellis Hatfield
90, of Cynthiana, KY., died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born in Robertson County, KY., April 4, 1924, to the late Joseph and Louisa Workman Hatfield. Mr. Hatfield was a farmer and retired Kawneer employee and an honorably discharged Navy Veteran of World War II. Raymond was a member of Union Baptist Church and Frankfort Post VFW. He had a great love for music, playing guitar, mandolin and banjo. His wife, Doris Jane Rankin Hatfield and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter, Ramona Sue Hatfield (Nolan) Craig, four sons, Ronald Ray (Debbie) Hatfield, Rankin Ellis (Mary) Hatfield, Royce Kent (Rhonda) Hatfield and Robert Bradley (Kathy) Hatfield. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren also survive. Services will be conducted 1 PM Monday, July 14, 2014, at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by Reverend Arnold Kiser. Burial with Military Honors to follow in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 PM to 5 PM Sunday, at the funeral home.
