East Prairie, MO - Leondas "Doc" Allen, 89, died at 10:30 p.m. April 17, 2003, at the Clearview Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 28, 1913, in East Prairie, to the late G.M. and Bessie Hockersmith Allen, he had lived most of his life in Mississippi County where he was employed in farming and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.
On Dec. 3, 1932, he married Olivia Irene Allen who preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2002.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Leondas and Betty Allen; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Duane Eastman, Bonnie and Norman Woods, Judy McCann and Joyce and Gus Baltrusaitis; one brother, G.W. Allen; two sisters, Vivian Watson and Maxine Laster; and seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Two grandsons, Barry Eastman and Kent Eastman, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends called at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services were conducted. The Revs. Rob Kespelher and Burl Britt officiated.
Burial followed in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carter Adams, Mark Adams, Adam Horn, Rodney Wray, Kevin Still, Michael Woods and Jeff Burge.
Honorary pallbearer was Lee McCann.
