Vivian L. Watson, 94, died December 14, 2016, at the East Prairie Nursing Center. Born November 7, 1922, in East Prairie, to the late G.M. "Pete" and Bessie Hockersmith Allen, she and her husband had been the owners of Watson Furniture in East Prairie. She was a member of the Church of God in East Prairie. On June 6, 1943, in Oran, she was married to L.S. "Joe" Watson, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2009.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Kaye Watson; four brothers, Leo Allen, Bill Allen, G.W. Allen and Leondas Allen; and two sisters, Maxine Laster and Daisy Nunn.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016, at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Larry Smith, officiating.
Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Greg Nunn, Gary Nunn, Glen Nunn, Jo Allen, Larry Allen and Harold Bays.
