World War II Army Veteran. Lyle Leo Brown lived with his parents until October 6, 1942 when he was inducted into the service at St. Francis, Kansas. He served as a Private in the US Army Engineers. Pvt. Lyle was killed in action in the campaign to reclaim the Attu, Aleutian Islands from the Japanese. Pvt. Lyle L. Brown's body was returned by military escort to his parents at Eckley, Colorado where they had moved to some months before his death.
