Robert E. "Geno" Adamson

JOPLIN, Mo. — Robert E. "Geno" Adamson, age 65, of Seneca, Mo., passed away on Thursday July 18, 2013, at his home following an illness.

Robert was born on Dec. 6, 1947, in Joplin, the son of the late Eugene "Junior" and Rose Marie (Leach) Adamson.

He has been a lifelong area resident.

He married Terry "Kaye" Jenkins on Oct. 30, 1964, in Joplin.

He served in the United States Army for 22 years, retiring in 1989. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Following his military career he worked as a roofer for several different roofing companies. He also worked for Sunbeam and the Neosho School District.

He was a member of the United American Lodge No. 819 of the Order of the Masons.

He enjoyed spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by two sons, Jef Adamson and girlfriend, Gail Weidner, Duenweg, Mo., and Rob Adamson and wife, Laura, Metamora, Ill.; one daughter, Crystal Adamson and husband, Jesse Andrews, Baxter Springs, Kan.; one brother, Jerry Lee Adamson and wife, Sally, Neosho, Mo.; one sister, Rose Ann Pearson and husband, H. R., Kimberling City, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Bobby Adamson, Kelsie Adamson, Cassidy Adamson, Bon Adamson, Abriana Andrews and Jaxavier Andrews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Disabled American Veterans or the American Lung Association in care of the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
