Last Rites Are Held Monday for Mrs. Ida Campbell
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida May Campbell, lifelong resident of Peoria county except for a short while in Phoenix, Ariz., were held Monday afternoon in the Alta Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Marion Floyd officiating, assisted by Perry Tudor. Interment was is the Prospect cemetery in Dunlap.
Merle Kent sang "Sunrise Tomorrow" and "The Lord's Prayer". Accompanied at the organ by Tom Bratton. Pallbearers were Donald Cline, Charles Cline, Charles Harker, David Connelly, Leslie Brown and Kenneth Borland.
Ida May Campbell was born February 15, 1882 in Peoria and departed from this life February 23, 1956 in her home in Dunlap, aged 74 years. She was the eldest daughter of Seba and Isabella Harker. February 17, 1904 she was united in marriage to Fred C. Campbell. In 1954 they celebrated their golden anniversary on Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Campbell passed away June 24, 1954.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marian Linder of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Ethel Smith of Dunlap; two sons Robert E. of Princeville and Harold of R.R. 2, Peoria; eleven grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Myrtle Cline and Mrs. Etta Bashusen, both of Dunlap; three brother Herbert of Dunlap, Fred of Monterey Park Calif., and Glen of West Los Angeles, Calif.
Preceding her is death were one daughter Florence and one Son Donald, two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Campbell lived most her life in Dunlap and Alta communities. She was a devoted member of Alt Presbyterian church and was deeply interested in all of the church activities, giving every assistance she could to any worthy cause as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of W.C.T.U. for a number of years.
She was a kindly and modest lady and bore her illness with patience and fortitude.
