Janie Dancer, 65, passed away on April 4, 2006. She was born on May 5, 1940 to George and Nola Faye (Roach) Pribil. Janie graduated high school from Enid Memorial Catholic High School. She was a member of 4-H for eight years. She then went to Southwestern State University and got a degree in Psychology, graduating in 1965. Then she went to Wichita, KS to Newman College for post graduate studies. Janie was working in Lawton for child welfare and met Melvin. Melvin and Janie were married on June 29, 1968 on her parent's farm outside of Bison, OK. They then moved back to Garfield County and lived on a farm in Ames, OK for two years. Melvin then re-enlisted in the U. S. Army. They were stationed at Ft. Sill and Ft. Knox and many other places including Germany. She was an active member in St. Andrew's Catholic Church as the secretary and in the Altar Society. Janie was a very devoted Catholic. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Dancer of the home; aunt, Joyce Martin of Enid; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Janie was a joyful, compassionate and generous person always willing to help those in need. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Wake Services will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM on Friday, April 7, 2006. Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Friday at Bison Cemetery.
