Larry E. Adams, 71, of Porter, died Sunday June 24, 2012, at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus.

He was born June 23, 1941, in Hobart, the son of Edward Adams and Beatrice Sigler Adams Frye, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Jerry) Aaron of Chesterton, Katherine (Robert) Bergstrom of Niles, Mich., and Stacey (Shane) Walleske of Portage; grandchildren Sloan and Saige Walleske of Portage; special loving niece Jami Arellano Peterson of Chesterton; his former wife and friend, Nancy Adams of Chesterton; and many nieces and nephews also are surviving.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Sharon, David, and Greg.

Larry was an Iron Worker for Local 395 and a Master Mason, Dune Lodge Portage, the Orak Shrine Michigan City Temple, and the Hobart Shrine Club; and a member of the Chesterton Moose Lodge 1623.

Funeral services, Pastor Lorrayne Rizer officiating, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday June 28, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St. in Chesterton. Burial will be at a later date at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at White-Love. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Larry's name.

Larry married Nancy Ann Nelson in Chesterton in 1963. They had children: Brenda, Katherine and Stacey Lynn. They later divorced.
