The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Friday, November 24, 1939. Illness Fatal To J. P. Acuff. Dies at Son's Home; Funeral Services Set Tomorrow. James Pope Acuff, 67, former textile employee, died at the home of his son, W. E. Acuff, 306 Halsey Avenue, at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services will be held from the Dallas Church of Christ at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Kilpatrick will officiate. Burial will be in Charity cemetery with Womack in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Andrew Luna, Earl Ivy, Charles Allen, Roy Bobo, Jim Millican and Clarence Certain. Surviving, besides the son are four daughters, Mrs. Ovena Sharp, Mrs. Emma Sanders, Mrs. Sara Thomas, all of Huntsville, and Mrs. Minnie Luna of Paris, Tenn. Mr. Acuff, whose wife died two months ago, was a member of the Dallas Church of Christ.
