He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife of 62 years, Marisa Gaskins, two daughters; Rosemary Carter (Jack) of Bartow, Charlene Shealey (Leslie) of Tifton, GA, four brothers; Billy Jack Gaskins (Sandy) of Commerce, GA, Ronald Gaskins (Janice) of Tampa, Earl Gaskins (Martha) of Jasper, GA, Jimmy Wayne Gaskins (Shirley) of San Diego, CA, two sisters; Marlene Basson (Steve) of Naylor, GA and Linda Faye Jones (Charles) of Atlanta, GA. He also leaves behind two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
