Daughter of and oldest of 12 children born to Ross and Eupha Burrell Buckner of Leicester; wife of W.E. "Gene" Harron, to whom she was married for over 40 years.

A native of Madison County, she had lived in Buncombe County most of her life. She was an ordering specialist for Rose's on Merrimon Avenue.

Evelyn was a graduate of Red Oak School, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was survived by her parents and husband; a son, Danny Harron, and a granddaughter, Denise Harron, of Weaverville; seven sisters, Frances Whitt and Mary June Hunter of Weaverville, Helen Anders of Barnardsville, Janice Trexler of Leicester, Barbara Bradley and Marie Anders of Jacksonville, Fla., and Linda Albin of Pinehurst; two brothers, Max Buckner of Leicester and Donald Buckner of Alexander.

Funeral services: Thursday, September 15, 1988, Locust Grove Baptist Church.

Burial: Church Cemetery.

Paternal aunt of Karyn Buckner Garvin
