Mr. Buckner was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County most of his life.
He retired from Silverline Plastics.
Donald was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon since 1989.
He was a son of the late Ross and Eupha Burrell Buckner. Also preceding him in death were his grandsons, Donald Keith Buckner II and David Ross Buckner, three sisters, Doris Robinson, Evelyn Herron and Mary June Hunter and brother, Tommy Buckner.
Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Juanita Roberts Buckner, sons, Keith Buckner, Aaron Buckner and David Buckner and wife, Linda, daughters, Charlene Shelton and husband, Keith, and Kathy Treadway and husband, Mike, all of Alexander, 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, sisters, Janice Trexler of Leicester, Linda Albin of Southern Pines, Frances Whitt of Weaverville, Helen Anders of Barnardsville, Marie Anders and Barbara Bradley, both of Jacksonville, Fla. and brother, Max Buckner of Fairplay, S.C.
Funeral services : Wednesday May 14 in Cedar Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy McPeters and Joe Honeycutt officiating.
Burial: church cemetery.
