Edward A. Gregory, age 89, of Linn, died Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at Autumn Meadows Skilled Care. He was born July 28, 1917, in Elsberry, Mo., the son of Harvey and Iva Witthause Gregory, both deceased. He was married on May 3, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo., to Edna Lucille Shear, who survives. He was a member of St. George Church and the United Auto Workers Local #25. An Army Veteran of World War II, Ed was employed as an inspector with Fisher Body, a division of General Motors Corp., for over 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a rock hound, as he enjoyed collecting rocks, repairing watches, was also an avid fisherman and a licensed private pilot, loving to fly airplanes. He is survived by his wife: Edna L. Gregory, of the home; two daughters: Sandra L. Reichart and husband Joseph of Linn, and Karen Sue Hinkle and husband Don of Holts Summit; one sister: Mary Mack of Westland, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchidren; seven great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Lloyd and Alfred Gregory; and two sisters: Frances Reed and Virginia Cooper. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2006, at St. George Church in Linn, with Rev. Father I.C. Medina officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2006, at Morton Funeral Home Chapel in Linn. Memorials may be made to the Charity of Donor's Choice.
