Lawrence Wood
MIAMI, Okla. — Lawrence L. Wood, 67 years old, Miami route 1, died at 12:45 o'clock Monday afternoon following an apparent heart attack in his home.

Born December 30, 1900, at Nevada, Mo., Mr. Wood had lived 42 years in the area. He was a retired Ottawa county employe.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Wood, of the home; four sons, Garland Wood, Miami, Okla., Robert Wood, Picher, Okla., LeRoy Wood, Eldorado, Kan., and Gene Wood of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Little, Columbus, Kan., and Mrs. Levada Power, Quapaw, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Tutle, Tulsa, Okla.; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Arrangement will be announced by the Paul Thomas funeral home.

MIAMI, Okla. — Services for Lawrence L. Wood, 67, Miami route 1 who died at 12:45 o'clock Monday afternoon, will be at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Paul Thomas chapel in Picher. The Rev. Wison Shaw will officiate and burial will be in the Ottawa cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arthur Meador, Arthur Meador Jr., Roy Imbeau, Claud Stanley, Orvil Davis and Walter Randall.

(MY MOTHER'S FATHER)

Lawrence Leroy "Slim" Wood, 65, of rural Ottawa County Oklahoma, passed away at his home of a heart attack.

Son of Joseph A. and JoAnn Erman Baldwin Wood.

Married Charlotte Jane "Lottie" Large, 10/24/24.

Father of two daughters: Lavada Marie Power (deceased) and Betty Joe Little.
Six sons: Willis Leroy, (deceased), Garland Leon, Bobby Lee, Alva Charles (Died at birth), James Curtis "J.C." (died at the age of 11) and Larry Gene Wood.

My Grandad was about 6 foot 6 and Grannie was around 5 foot tall. Grandad's nickname was "Slim". He loved to fish and lived on the river for many years. He always had a HUGE fish to show us. In his younger days he drove a road-grader for Ottawa County, or as my son used to call it "a groat-rader".

I miss you and Grannie so very much. You will live in our hearts forever.
