It was not till he was so broke down by ill health that most of the time he was unable to work he applied for a pension and that was 28 years after the war and which it was granted. The remains were conveyed to their last resting place under old glory, the flag he fought to preserve, the usual honor paid to a soldier's funeral. All honor to his memory.
