Ernest Hugo Ackt was a tailor. He and Elizabeth Jane lived at 156 West Saddle River Rd. in Saddle River, NJ. The entrance to his shop was down in the back of the house. During the 1880's until his death, he sewed for many of the wealthy residents and visitors to Saddle River and surrounding area. He would sew sitting "tailor fashion" on his tailor's bench.
