Miss Mary Jones Died Friday Night

Miss Mary L. Jones passed away Friday night in a Temple hospital after being in bad health for the past several months.

Deceased was born Dec 26, 1885 north of Moody and had made this her home all her life. She resided in South Moody.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and took an active part in church work until her health commenced to fail. She was educated in the Moody Public Schools.

She is survived by one brother, D.F. (Mont) Jones of this city; a half-brother, John C. Jones of Houston; and a half sister, Mrs. E.M. Matthews of Moody.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at 4pm. Saturday. Rev. Marion Ford officiating. The body lay in state at the church from 3 to 4 pm. Burial was in Moody Cemetery, Denny & Witt in charge.

Pallbearers were Donald D. Allman, Z.S. Teague, H.H. Jones, Jack Newman, E.A. Culpepper, and W. Guy Draper.

NOTE:
Daughter of Dan Jones and his first wife, Melisa Burger.
Granddaughter of Mary Grimes and Dan Jones.
She lived with her grandmother after her mother's death, and remained close to her, taking care of her in later years.
