BAUGH, Russell Eugene age 91 of Hendersonville passed away September 11, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Russell and Glow Pauline Baugh; brothers, Paul and Dale Baugh. Col. Baugh is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Elisabetha Cassel Baugh; daughter, Carol (Tim) Webster; son, Steve (Evelyn) Baugh; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Col. Baugh served his country for more than 35 years in the Army Air Corps, Air Force and U.S. Army, with overseas tours in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. A Master Aviator, he flew both fixed wing and rotary wing throughout his career, and helped train more than 12,000 Army aviators during his time at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He served as the Director of ROTC at Vanderbilt University before retiring from the Army in 1978. Along with many other medals and commendations, he was awarded the Legion of Merit. Family will receive friends September 18, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 650 East Main Street, Hendersonville. Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial with full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery later. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Col.
