Iris was retired from Civil Service, where she worked for the Department of Defense out of Norfolk.
She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Michelle, a brother, Marvin T. "Boogie" Bright of Norfolk, two sisters, Marlene S. Bennett of Washington, NC, and Addie B. Chalk of Colerain, NC, five grandchildren, Travis, Amanda, Michele, Tabetha, and Amy, and four great grandchildren, William, Mathew, Drew, and Raven.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday April 9, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 12 Noon in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. Online condolences may be made to the family at hdoliver.com.
