According to the obituary of a daughter, the family moved to Wisconsin in 1856, although the 1860 US Federal Census has them in Illinois. By the 1870 US Census they are in Door County. His obituary gives 1868 as the year for "removing to Wisconsin."

He ran a hotel which advertised as suitable for families, "The Exchange, a Temperance Hotel", in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

At his death, an article appeared on the front page of the Door County News.

His father was Charles Wright of New York who died in Door County and his grandfather was Edmund James Wright of New York, who married Zerviah/Zeruiah Sophia Rider. Rider is a Mayflower descendent.

His mother was Polly Wilks/Wilkes who died in New York and is buried there.

I have not figured out the "B."--Jerome's middle initial.
