Tom was born in Washington, Iowa on March 3, 1929. Son of Marvin Franklin and Margaret Ellen (Thompson) Beery. He graduated from Keota High School in 1947, then attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He also attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He received ROTC training two years while attending both colleges. On June 20, 1953, he married Elein Marie Roose in Taylor. They moved to Rockdale where he worked 31 years with Texas Utilities, retiring in 1984. Tom Beery, 97 of Rockdale, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the Cameron Nursing Home in Cameron.
