Dewey Harris Scott 1934-2015
Dewey Harris Scott, age 81, died Dec, 4, 2015 at the Sandy Ridge Nursing Home in Milton, FL. He was born in August 25, 1934 in Lancaster, SC to Wakeford D. & Edna Faile Scott. Scott served 22 years in the Navy after which he served 21 years as a Federal Firefighter at Whiting Field, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Roland, Floyd and Clyde Scott and one sister Jossie Magalene "Tootsie" Trimnal. He is survived by his wife, Laura Lee Scott, son, Eric S. Scott and two sisters, Ruth Mackey and Bernice Hill and a number of nieces and nephews.Scott joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1975. He was lovingly referred to as the "Handy Man" by members and neighbors.A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Berryhill Rd, Milton, FL. on Saturday, January 9th at 10 a.m. He will be interned at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola. National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
