She was a member of Assumption Church in Portageville, the Altar & Rosary, VFW Auxiliary, Humane Society, SPCA, and a Castile elections worker.
Her husband John "Red" Barnes died in 1983. Surviving a sister, Christine Davis of Silver Springs, a sister-in-law, Hilda Dorrenbacher of Florida; many nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late James, John and Howard Dorrenbacher. The Rosary was said at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, a Mass at St. Mary's Church with burial in the church cemetery in Silver Springs.
