Drag Lake for Edgewood Man
Police and fire department crews in Austin, Tex., continued to drag Lake Austin today for the body of the Rev. Edgar Bassett, resident of Edgewood, who was drowned Saturday when he fell from his water skis in the lake.
The Associated Press reported that flood waters were hampering the search for the body.
Rev. Bassett, who was 29, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Bassett of Edgewood, about 30 miles east of Albuquerque. A non-denominational missionary, he spent much time in Texas and had been in Austin about two weeks.
Rev. Bassett attended Moriarty High School. Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Sanford and Bruce Bassett of Alamogordo, and a sister, Mrs. La Rue Myers, in Oklahoma.
