Obituary:
Mr. Stephen A. Beach, an old resident of Baxter, died at his home in the north part of town last Friday afternoon and was buried Sunday at 11 a m under the auspices of the Grand Army. Stephen A. Beach was born March 27th, 1826 at Bristol, New York, when a child his parents moved near Rockford, Illinois where February 25th, 1855, he married Susan A. Rutledge by whom he leaves seven children, two sons and five daughters. His wife died at Gettysburg, Graham Co., Oct 19th 1879. On June 17th 1882, at Edmond, Norton co., Kansas, he was married to Mrs. Mary A. Hirst, whom with two children are now left to mourn his death. He enlisted in Co. F. 29th Iowa Infantry, August 21st 1862. Was discharged at Marine Hospital New Orleans, June 19th 1865.
