Merlyn Jay Burraston, 81, passed away January 20, 2013 in West Jordan, Utah.

Born July 12, 1931 in Goshen, Utah, son of George Wilmar and Elizabeth Alice Powell Burraston. Married Mary Louise Bailey October 10, 1957 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a hard worker and devoted his life to providing for his family. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with family and friends.

Survived by wife, Mary; children: Lori (Frank) Reilley, Todd (Michele), Troy (Rachel), Kyle, and Lisa (Eric) Bird; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Arjean Jordan. Preceded in death by parents; 6 sisters; and 1 granddaughter, Jessica.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beehive Home and Encompass Hospice for their loving care of our husband and father.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013, 12:00 noon at the Granger 14th Ward, 2101 West 3100 South. Viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
