MRS. MARION HARBUR DIES AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
Martha Ellen Bryant was born near Carthage, IL, 12 NOV 1856, and passed away at her home southeast of Memphis, Mo. 14 DEC 1934, at 9:40 a.m., aged 78 years, 1 month and two days. She united in marriage with G. M. Harbur, 26 MAR 1872, at Carthage, IL and moved to their present home at that time. To this union 12 children were born. Two preceded her in death, Arthur, who died in infancy, and Dudley G., who died 17 DEC 1932 in Galesburg, IL. Ten children and her husband survive: Ambrose, Everett H. and Charley of Adair County; Perry of Carthage, IL, James, Elizabeth and Ellis of Memphis; William of Kahoka; Ada and Elsie of Ottumwa, IA. Twenty three grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Also one sister, Mrs. John Kiger of near Bible Grove. In early life she united with the Baptist Church and in later years changed her membership to the Methodist Church and lived as a consistent Christian mother. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. K. Green at Union Church at 11 a.m., Sunday, 16 DEC 1934, and the body was laid to rest in the Union cemetery near by. Music was furnished by a quartette, composed of Madaline Moffett, Mrs. Wm. Bice, A. G. Moffett and Fred Gerth; soloist, Mrs. Chas. E. Ebeling, -- by request; pianist, Eva Price. The body bearers were six of her sons.
