Charles R. Harbur, 66-year old retired carpenter, died at his home here at 8 o'clock this morning. He had been in failing health for the past two months with a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the United Brethren Church in Brashear conducted by the Rev. Martin Cross of Callao. Burial will be in the Brashear cemetery with his six brothers serving as pallbearers. The body will remain at the Easley Funeral Home in Brashear until time for the funeral.
Mr. Harbur was born January 9, 1861 near Memphis, the son of Marion and Martha Bryant Harbur. He married Miss Sadie Scott on May 6, 1906, four children being born to this union.
Following his marriage he lived on a farm in the Grandview vicinity until 1928 when he moved his family to Brashear. He was a member of the Union Methodist Church of near Memphis.
Mr. Harbur is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Oleta Vaughn of Ennis, Texas; three sons, Roy H. and Paul of Brashear and Leonard of Route 4, Kirksville; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Dean and Mrs. Elsie Welborn of Otumwa; six brothers, W.A. Harbur, Gorin, P.A. Harbur, Carthage, Illinois, J.E. Harbur, Ottumwa, E.Harbur, Kirksville, W.E. Harbur, Williamstown and Ellis Harbur, Bethel and five grandchildren.
