H. V. "Pete" Art went to be with his Lord on May 13, 2012 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Pete was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 13, 1927, the youngest of three children to Bertha and Vernon Art. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Once discharged from the Navy, he started his career in the Wallpaper Industry where he remained in sales until his retirement. He lived in Denton, Texas for 22 years and then he and his wife, Joan, retired to Canyon Lake, Texas, where they spent many enjoyable years. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his oldest sister, Vivian Yeager, and sister Mary Herrel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Joan, as well as his son and daughter-in-law, John & Sharyn Art of Allen, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa & Terry Fears of Henderson, TX, step-daughter and son-in-law, Linda & David Weldon of Houston, TX, step-daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Gene Bollinger of Sealy, TX and step-daughter, Debbie Mask of Whitesboro, TX. He also left behind 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pete was a faithful member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Canyon Lake, Texas.

His funeral was held at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas, on Monday, May 21st at 2 pm, with Father Jerry Sneary officiating.
