Joan Art went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2018 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Greenwich, England on May 11, 1927, the youngest of two children to Edith Humphhreys and Isadore Proops
(married 1921).

Joan married Harriel D. Starnes on August 1946 in England. She came to the United States in February 1947, the marriage dissolved in 1964. She continued to live in Houston, Texas, until March 11, 1974 when she married her husband H.V. "Pete" Art and they moved to Denton, Texas where they lived for 22 years. Joan and her husband retired to Canyon Lake, Texas where they spent many enjoyable years.

Joan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and David Weldon of Houston, TX., daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gene Bollinger of Durant, OK, daughter, Deborah Mask of Whitesboro, TX., step-son and daughter-in-law, John and Sharyn Art of Allen, TX., niece, Denise Berry of N. Devon England. Joan also left behind nine grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, sister, Iris Glyde, husband, H.V. "Pete" Art and step-daughter, Teresa Fears(#177694639).

Her funeral will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Randy Shuffield officiating.
