Harold Dean Barnett, 64, of 100 Gilbert Road, Columbus, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2000.

A native of Polk County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Floyd Raymond Barnett (1915-1964) and Ruth (Horton) Barnett Belue (1913-2006), and was the husband of Patricia (Bradley) Barnett.

He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Marietta, a retired carpenter, and served in the Air Force.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Harold Eugene "Gene" Barnett of Green Creek; a daughter, Donna Marie Tackett Smith of Columbus; two brothers, Clarence Barnett of Inman and Charles Barnett of Columbus; a sister, Nancy Neverline of Tryon, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at Petty Funeral Chapel, Landrum, South Carolina, conducted by the Rev. John Parker.

Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens.
