Mrs. Catherine Orr died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. A. McNichols, at Yuma, Colorado, at 9 a.m., December 23rd. Mrs. Orr went away from Osceola on her visit just three weeks before her death, which followed an illness with erysipelas of only four days.

She leaves a brother, Elijah Hart of this place, and two sisters, besides seven children, two sons and five daughters. One son, William, died a soldier's death in the Philippines two years ago. Mrs. Orr was the widow of a soldier as well as the mother of one. Mr. Orr died January 1st, 1885.

She with her husband moved to this county in 1852, from Ohio, where she was born. It was the year of their marriage, and they settled in Green Bay township, where she lived until about five years ago she moved to Osceola. Their children were reared there.

They are Mrs. Joe Lingle, Mrs. Bertha Higens of Spring Hill, lowa; Mrs. Owen Carter, Mrs. McNichols and Mrs. Louisa Webster of Denver, and her sons, H. Q. Orr, and John Orr in South Dakota. Of these, all but two, John and Louisa, were present at her funeral.

Mrs. Orr was seventy-one years, seven months and twenty-six days old. She was a member of the M. P . church, a good, conscientious woman, kind to her family and to all with whom she was associated. Her remains were brought to Osceola, for interment Saturday and the funeral services, conducted by Rev. Dillavou were held at M. P. church at nine a.m. Sunday.
Then she was laid to rest in Maple Hill cemetery beside her husband and son.

As a pioneer woman of this county, her death leaves another gap in their fast failing ranks, and a host of friends mourn with her relatives.
