Mrs. Arthur A. Burow, 88, nee Lillian Lorene Priess of Comfort, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, in San Antonio.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Comfort with the Rev. Bob Kaul officiating. Charlotte Kneupper was the pianist and Erin Haufler, the vocalist. Interment followed in the Comfort Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort where visitation was held Friday evening, Feb. 4.

Mrs. Burow was born March 16, 1922, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Jim L. Priess and Olga A. Schlaudt Priess. She married Arthur A. Burow on June 26, 1948, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death.

She worked at City Mattress Factory in Fredericksburg, and after her marriage did babysitting in her home. In addition to being a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, she also belonged to the Golden Age Center.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Darel and Debbie Burow and David and Dottie Burow, all of Comfort; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Nolan and Etta Priess of Fredericksburg; a sister-in-law, Myrtle, Mrs. Rudy Kirchhoff of Comfort; and three brothers-in-law and spouses: Milton and Ruby Burow of Schertz; Elmer and Jean Burow and Clarence and Bobbye Burow, all of Comfort.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Burow was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Ackermann and Eileen Spangenberg.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Comfort Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Brent Burow, Chad Burow, Dustin Burow, Kyle Burow, Kenneth Priess and Steve Spangenberg.
