Minnie O. Tidwell is Elma Mae's mother. Minnie married Elma's father Elmer C. Starr on July 25, 1897, in Henry County, GA.

In 1910, Elma's parents were listed as Elmer and Minnie Starr on the Federal Census.

In 1920, her mother was listed as a Widow. I haven't located an obituary or burial site for Elma Mae's father yet.

It seems that in 1930, John Thomas Cook and Minnie Ola Cook had custody of Elma Mae. They are shown as her parents on the 1930 Federal Census.

Elma Mae's brother Calvin Joseph Starr died in August 1952. One of the survivors listed in his obituary is his mother, Mrs. J.T. Cook of Stockbridge. I haven't located an obituary or burial site for her yet.

If anyone has information on Elma Mae's parents, please feel free to contact me or provide me with links to them. They had several children. They are on Find a Grave, but not linked to their parents. Thank you.

Mrs. Abernathy's obituary is in The Atlanta Constitution on page B7, Monday, August 14, 2006
