He came to Nebraska in 1874 and settled on the farm in Stanton Township where he continued to reside until his death.
He leaves to mourn his demise his wife, Delia, one brother, J.H. Bortner of McCook, Neb., one sister, Mrs. Eva Newbold of Edmond, Kas. besides other relatives and many friends.
The funeral was held at the Geneva Methodist church at 2 p. m. Monday and was conducted by Rev. H. C. Capsey. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery.
