Mrs. Galey enjoyed raising and caring for her two children, and being a seamstress making clothes for her husband and children as well as performing alterations for the public from her home. Her sewing, crocheting and quilt making was something she never gave up and even into her 80's continued to learn new techniques and methods. After moving to Sunnybrook Estates in Madison, she performed alterations for some of the residents and especially enjoyed making clothes, quilts, blankets and other things for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
While living in Greenwood she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving as a teacher and as a leader in missions, and promoting the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering by sewing flags of all the countries where Southern Baptist missionaries were serving. After moving to Madison, she shared this love of missions in Old Rice Road Baptist Church. She was a loving family-centered person who also made friends with all with whom she came in contact.
