Ruby Smith, 85, of Litchfield died Friday, October 17, 2003, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Litchfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cinday Alstadt officiating. Burial will be at Litchfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.

She was born April 16, 1918, in Sherman County to Frank and Nora (Bender) Linden. She attended rural school in Buffalo County.

On March 30, 1940, she married Raymond Carol Smith in Kearney. They lived on a farm northeast of Mason City until 1963, when they moved to Dunning and were employed at Shinn Turkey Ranch.

They retired to Litchfield in 1983. Her husband died February 9, 1996.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Smith of Oakdale; brother, Frankie Linden of Pleasanton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, two brothers, and one sister.
