KATHLEEN FRONIE METCALF SHELTON

Kathleen Metcalf Shelton, of Hughey Road, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

A native of Madison County, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Levi and Bertha Wells Metcalf. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church and retired from City of Asheville Water Department.

In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her sisters, Lula Pike, Genell Lawter and Rachel Metcalf and brother, James Metcalf.

Surviving are her son, Ben H. Shelton of Atlanta; sisters, Betty Faye Fisher of Alexander, Elizabeth Clark and Hester Thorpe, both of Marshall; brothers, Charley Metcalf of Detroit and Ralph Metcalf of Asheville.

The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Revs. Jack Gassaway and Larry Sprouse officiated. Interment was in Flint Hill Cemetery.
