According to the book "The History of Edgar County, Illinois" 1879 by Wm. Le Baron, pg, 776 and the book "The Story of Iowa, The Progress of an American State" Vol. 4, pg. 665 by William John Petersen, (a biography of Amaziah's Grandson, Liva Morgan Craft), Amaziah was mentioned as a Methodist minister, the son of Francis Marion Craft, Sr. having died in Burlingame, Kansas. His census records list him consistantly as A. M. Craft.
