Washington Levi was born 1825, TN and married Martha Emeline Shelby 30 June 1846, TN. They came to TX in 1857 and settled in the community of Kickapoo. He later joined Co. H, 1st Texas Infantry, Hood's Brigade, and was killed at the Battle of Gaines Mill, VA 27 June 1862.
