Obit: Evelyn Madelene Carpenter,daughter of the late Clinton And Gertie Sigman Mead, was born July 18,1918 in Texas County, Missouri, and she departed this life on March 17,2004 in the Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool, Missouri at the age of 85 years, seven months and 28 days.
Evelyn grew up in the Oak Grove Community of Texas County, Missouri where she was saved and baptized at a young age.
On March 3, 1935 at Simmons, Missouri she was married to Loren Babbitt, to this union three children was born.Bonnie Jean Lozano of Springfield, Missouri, Kenneth Babbitt of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Grace Butts of Mtn Grove, Missouri,
they had 30 wonderful years together, Loren passed away March 17,1965. Later Evelyn married Lewis Carpenter. who passed away in April of 2000.
Evelyn was a loving mother and grandmother and great grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family and attending church along with sharing her faith. Evelyn was a member of the Providence Free Will Baptist Church until her passing.
She was preceded in passing by her parents 2 husband and four brothers Wayne Mead and three infant brothers.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Kenny Babbitt and wife Linda , Bonnie Lozano, and Grace Elizabeth Butts & husband Elster. one brother, Lory E Mead of Kansas City,Missouri, nine grandchildren, Arlynda Bueterbaugh and husband Jerry, Leslie Rose and husband Jimmy, Harold Butts and wife Brandi,Karla Swisher and husband Jeff, Kerby Butts and wife Andrea,Lorrie Taylor, Kevin Babbitt,Billy Babbitt and Jennie Babbitt, Eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends
Services were 2:00p.m. in Providence Free Will Baptist Church, March 20,2004 with Rev Dennis Adkinson and Troy Burney officiating and burial was in Providence Cemetery under the direction of Elliott Gentry Funeral Home. of Cabool.
